October - November:

• Head of the Trent Elizabeth Carter – 4^th in Lwt Wmns 1x, Brad Ingleton and Bob Wink – 4^th in Masters Double Men, Diane Barr – 2^nd in Grand Masters Single Women, Steve Ruttan – 3^rd in Grand Masters Single Men, Brad Ingleton - 8^th in Masters Single Men

August - September:

• Meaghan White participates in Canadian Secondary School Regattas Association (CSSRA)in Junior Women's Single
• Guelph CORA- Meaghan White, Mike Smith, Diane Barr (2nd in Master's Women's 1x), Elizabeth Carter (2nd in U23 Lwt Women's 1x)
• CORA Champs- Brad Ingleton and Bob Wink 1st in Masters Mens A/B Double, Bob 1st in Master's B single, Brad 2nd in Master's B single, Diane Barr 3rd in Women's C/D single. Other competitors - Hayley Anthoulakis, Maddy Plesko, Elizabeth Carter, Mike Smith, Meaghan White
• Rowontario Master's Championships- Two Gold medals (Steve Ruttan, Brad Ingleton and Bob Wink), three Silver medals (Mike Smith/Gord Ramey and Brad Ingleton - 2), four Bronze medals (Steve R, Gord R, Mike S, Diane Barr, Bob W)
• Rowontario Championships - Meaghan White U17 Single 4th in heat, U19 single 4th in Heat; Elizabeth Carter U23 Lwt Women's Single 2nd in Heat, 4th in Final, Sr. Lwt Single 6th in Heat, U23 Hwt Single 3rd in Heat
• Intro to Rowing Program at Gull Lake Park in Gravenhurst July 12th, 13th, 14th - offered in co-operation with Gravenhurst Parks and Recreation Department

 May - June:

• Irow Student Program,  27 students (ODCVI, Gravenhurst HS, Patrick Fogarty CSS, Notre Dame CS, Rama Central PS) culminating with Severn River Sprints/Camp/BBQ and the Barrie Sprints Regatta

March:

• Several members (Brad Ingleton, Mike Smith, Diane Barr, Elizabeth Carter) row in Daytona Beach during March Break. Members Madeleine and Emily Berrevoets, Esther Childs also in Daytona Beach during break for winter training!

2010 Club Highlights:

Jan - March:

• Provincial Coach (Phil Marshall) visited North Central Region in February; included a presentation from Dr. Andrew Robb, Sports Specialist and Shawn Wallace, Registered Massage Therapist both from Back to Function, Orillia;  Joint venture between SRRC and BRC 
• Elizabeth Carter participates in Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships - 10th place in U23 Lwt Wmn division

June - December

• Successful Sprint Season for Master's Competitive rowers - Participation in CORA regattas, Rowontario Master's Championships, Master's Henley, FISA World Master's Regatta (Brad Ingleton and Bob Wink Gold medalists in Men's B Double)
• Participation in fall Head Race Season (Head of the Rideau - Kyle Conahan, Mike Smith, Diane Barr), Head of the Trent - Steve Ruttan, Mike Smith, Diane Barr, Meaghan White, Penta Ledger, Esther Childs, Madeleine Berrevoets)
• Second Annual Severn River RC Indoor Erg Event at Regatta Restaurant in Gravenhurst

2009 Club Highlights: 

Jan - March:

• Terry Paul comes to Orillia to talk to local rowing enthusiasts. Organized by the SRRC and Dr. Larry Bell
• club members participate in Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships (Matt Siddall, Elizabeth Carter)
• planning for upcoming season

April - June:

• Successful High School season - 15 student athletes from ODCVI & Twin Lakes SS.  Fun Intra-Club event to wrap up Spring Season and kick off Summer Season - Severn River Sprints/BBQ at the Severn River Inn on June 7.

• Master's Regatta - Tony Biernacki Memorial Regatta - Brad Ingleton - Gold (Mixed 2x), Diane Barr/Mike Smith - Silver (Mixed 2x), Brad Ingleton/Mike Smith - Gold (Men's A/B 2x),  Brad Ingleton - 5th (Men's A/B 1x)

July - Aug:

• CORA Championships, Four medals - Gold (Brad and Bob in the Masters 2x), two silver (Brad in the Masters 1x, Elizabeth and Jen in the U23 2x and a bronze (Tena and Diane in the Masters 2x)
• Rowontario Master's - Gold (Brad and Bob in the Masters B 2x) three silvers (Steve Ruttan in the Masters D 1x, Brad in a Composite Mixed 2x, Tena and Diane in the Masters C 2x) and a bronze (Tena in a Womens 4x)
• St Catharines Invitational Regatta - Elizabeth Carter: U23 Lwt Wmns Single - 3rd in heat, qualified for Final -  6th in Final ; Eamonn Doorly: U23 Lwt Mns Single - 6th in heat
• Rowontario Championships - Elizabeth Carter: 4th in Final of U23 and 4th in Final of Sr Lwt Single;  Matt Siddall - 5th in heat of U19 Single

Sept - Dec:

• Head of the Severn - Intra club Event  in Sept
• Head of the Trent - Brad Ingleton and Bob Wink win GOLD in Men's Masters Division in Oct
• Head of the Charles, Boston  in Oct - Brad Ingleton and Bob Wink come 11th in the Men's Masters event; Elizabeth Carter comes 7th in the University Lwt Women's 8 with Queen's U
• First Annual Muskoka Wharf Indoor Erg Event - Nov

2008 Club Highlights:

Jan – March: 

• Promoted rowing programs at local High Schools
• Worked on SRRC club development and programs
• Organized an in-school rowing program/presentation using Concept 2 Ergometers to support DPA (Daily Physical Activity) in the Elementary Schools

April – June:

• Coordinated  a recreational/LTR  program for local students (Grades 6 to 12) culminating in a fun club event (Severn River Sprints) and participation in  a local recreational regatta (Georgian Bay Invitational, Midland)
• Ran a competitive program for local High School students who participated in the CSSRA Regatta and the Junior National Team Time Trials

June – August:

• Ran Learn to Row and Return to Row programs for SRRC members (2 nights a week)
• Ran a Regional Night for all local clubs (Severn, Orillia, Barrie, Muskoka) one night a week
• Coached competitive members (Juniors and Masters) who attended series of competitive regattas throughout the  summer
• Ran Learn to Row programs for the Muskoka RC, continued coaching throughout summer one night a week
• Competed at the Masters level in the single and double

September – October:

• Continued to coach athletes at the Muskoka RC
• Continued to coach athletes at the Severn River RC
• Continued to offer Regional Nights for local rowing enthusiasts once a week (including members from the Orillia RC and Barrie RC)
• Continued to compete at Head Races at the Masters level
• Organized a fun club event (Head of the Severn)

AUGUST

Royal Canadian Henley

PARTICIPANTS: U17 -Elliott Carter, U19 - Matt Siddall, Elizabeth Carter, Master’s - Brad Ingleton, Bob Wink, Diane Barr and Mike Smith. No Gold medals for the SRRC this year, but some excellent, extremely competitive racing. Bob and Brad were close with a second place finish in the Master's Men B 2x.

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

The Head of the Severn – First annual, low-key, inter-club event with invited guests.  This was a fun mini-regatta/lunch as a wrap-up to the season. 45 members and supporters attended. Thanks to James and Wendy at the Seven River Inn for making this possible.
