- Irow Student Program, 27 students (ODCVI, Gravenhurst HS, Patrick Fogarty CSS, Notre Dame CS, Rama Central PS) culminating with Severn River Sprints/Camp/BBQ and the Barrie Sprints Regatta
March:
- Several members (Brad Ingleton, Mike Smith, Diane Barr, Elizabeth Carter) row in Daytona Beach during March Break. Members Madeleine and Emily Berrevoets, Esther Childs also in Daytona Beach during break for winter training!

Successful Sprint Season for Master's Competitive rowers - Participation in CORA regattas, Rowontario Master's Championships, Master's Henley, FISA World Master's Regatta (Brad Ingleton and Bob Wink Gold medalists in Men's B Double)

2008 Club Highlights:
Jan – March:
- Promoted rowing programs at local High Schools
- Worked on SRRC club development and programs
- Organized an in-school rowing program/presentation using Concept 2 Ergometers to support DPA (Daily Physical Activity) in the Elementary Schools
April – June:
- Coordinated a recreational/LTR program for local students (Grades 6 to 12) culminating in a fun club event (Severn River Sprints) and participation in a local recreational regatta (Georgian Bay Invitational, Midland)
- Ran a competitive program for local High School students who participated in the CSSRA Regatta and the Junior National Team Time Trials
June – August:
- Ran Learn to Row and Return to Row programs for SRRC members (2 nights a week)
- Ran a Regional Night for all local clubs (Severn, Orillia, Barrie, Muskoka) one night a week
- Coached competitive members (Juniors and Masters) who attended series of competitive regattas throughout the summer
- Ran Learn to Row programs for the Muskoka RC, continued coaching throughout summer one night a week
- Competed at the Masters level in the single and double
September – October:
- Continued to coach athletes at the Muskoka RC
- Continued to coach athletes at the Severn River RC
- Continued to offer Regional Nights for local rowing enthusiasts once a week (including members from the Orillia RC and Barrie RC)
- Continued to compete at Head Races at the Masters level
- Organized a fun club event (Head of the Severn)

PARTICIPANTS: U17 -Elliott Carter, U19 - Matt Siddall, Elizabeth Carter, Master’s - Brad Ingleton, Bob Wink, Diane Barr and Mike Smith. No Gold medals for the SRRC this year, but some excellent, extremely competitive racing. Bob and Brad were close with a second place finish in the Master's Men B 2x.

The Head of the Severn – First annual, low-key, inter-club event with invited guests. This was a fun mini-regatta/lunch as a wrap-up to the season. 45 members and supporters attended. Thanks to James and Wendy at the Seven River Inn for making this possible.
